Julia Wojtkowski

Julia Wojtkowski is a New York City native and a student at Yale University, where she is pursuing a degree in Economics and Art History. Expanding her academic horizons, she recently studied at Oxford University’s Exeter College Summer Program, further enriching her global perspective and deepening her passion for both disciplines.

Although born in the United States, Julia’s Polish heritage has been a defining part of her identity. Raised in a household that fostered a deep appreciation for Polish culture, history, and patriotism, she spent each summer in Poland, strengthening her connection to her roots. Through immersive experiences at Polish summer camps in Kraków and Ruciane-Nida, as well as extensive travels across the country, she cultivated a profound understanding of Polish traditions and language.

Growing up in Greenpoint, a historically Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn, Julia attended the Maria Konopnicka Polish Supplementary School, where she later gave back to her community as a volunteer. Her commitment to preserving Polish culture extended to her involvement with St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the Krakus Senior Center, the Polish and Slavic Center, and the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America. Inspired by these experiences, she proudly represented her heritage while attending Townsend Harris High School, where she led the Polish Festival of Nations and showcased her academic dedication through a first-place research project on Marshal Józef Piłsudski at NYC National History Day 2019.

Currently, Julia continues her advocacy for Polish culture as an active member of Yale’s Polish Club and participates in various organizations dedicated to empowering Polish youth. She remains committed to promoting her heritage, fostering cross-cultural engagement, and contributing to her community both in the U.S. and abroad.
